Simple Cooking Tips That Can Keep Your Kitchen Clean

Blog

If you're anything like the average person, after a long day at work, cooking dinner for your family isn't exactly your favorite pastime. Even less exciting is the idea of cleaning your kitchen after you have finished cooking. Learning how to clean while you cook is the best way to simplify the cleaning process. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Waste Container

Designate a temporary waste container when you're cooking. This can be a large mixing bowl or Tupperware container. You can easily place your waste container on the counter when you are cutting up ingredients for your meal. When you repeatedly walk back and forth to the trash can with the waste in your hand, it's likely that you will drop some of these scraps along the way. With a waste container you can eliminate this.

Splatter Screen

Whenever you are cooking foods with a high fat content or frying food, it's best to use a splatter screen. Splatter screens are mesh devices that you place over the top of your pan to prevent oil from splattering all over your stove top or your backsplash. In addition to preventing an oil mess, a splatter screen can also help prevent the grease from popping on you.

Kitchen Sink

Don't forget to use your kitchen sink, especially when measuring or mixing. For example, it would be more efficient to measure flour over the sink than it would your countertop. Any spilled flour can easily be washed down the drain, which is much easier than cleaning your countertop. If you are mixing wet ingredients, consider placing the bowl in the sink while you mix, so that you can easily wash away any spillage.

Start Early

When time permits, make sure you start cooking early. When you wait until the last minute to cook, you are more likely to rush. Rushing almost always leads to a messy kitchen. If your schedule makes it hard to cook early during the week, consider doing some of your prep work in the morning. Cutting up your vegetables and seasoning your meat are just a couple of the things you could do before you go to work to help simplify cooking later and prevent rushing.

It is possible to cook dinner and not spend a long time cleaning your kitchen when you're done. Make sure you are cooking with the idea of a cleaner kitchen in mind. If your kitchen still needs a little extra help, contact cleanign services like Service King
